A vehicle is required to be registered by a Registering Authority in whose jurisdiction the owner of the motor vehicle has the residence or place of business where the vehicles is normally kept. In Haryana, the SDO(C) concerned has been prescribed as the Registering Authority in respect of all motor vehicles other than the transport vehicles, and motor vehicles having a seating capacity upto 6+1. The Secretary, Regional Transport Authority has been prescribed as the Registering Authority in respect of all the remaining vehicles.
